The CSE is looking for caring, creative, and diligent leaders to support students in our residence halls. This incredible leadership opportunity provides students with the ability to connect with students, staff, and faculty at GW; all the while developing themselves. RAs leave the position with skills that future employers highly desire: crisis management, peer counseling, teamwork, leadership, project management, event planning, problem-solving, and stewardship.

The 2018-2019 Resident Advisor Application is now open! To apply, click here! The application will close on November 28, 2017 at 10am, and applicants will be updated on the status of their application around December 18, 2017. The New RA Interview day will take place on January 28, 2018, with final selection decisions released on February 15, 2018. 

In order to be considered, all applicants must attend one of the following information sessions:

Tuesday, 11/14, 1:00pm: District House B117

Thursday, 11/16, 9:00pm: Eckles Auditorium

Thursday, 11/16, 9:00pm: District House B205

Sunday, 11/19, 7:00pm: Thurston Hall Basement

 

Before applying, consider reaching out to any current RA to talk about the position or send the Residential Engagement Team an email at ret@gwu.edu with your questions about the process. The role is a significant time commitment, and it is expected that Resident Advisors attend all training dates and meetings, as well as maintain extended availability during hall openings, closings, and evenings. Prior to applying, we recommend looking through the "Important Dates for 2018-2019 Resident Advisors" section below. If selected for the role, RAs are expected to discuss any date conflicts in adviance with their Area Coordinator or Residence Advisor. We look forward to seeing your application! 

 

Important Dates for 2018-2019 Resident Advisors:

Mar. 7, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm: Orientation I

April 12, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm: Orientation II

Sat. Aug. 11, 2018 after 3:00pm: RAs may begin move-in

Sun. Aug. 12, 2018 at 9:00am: New RAs complete move-in and begin fall training. 

Mon. Aug. 13, 2018 at 9:00am: Returning RAs complete move-in and join new RAs for fall training. Training ends on Friday Aug. 24, 2018 in the evening.

Sat. Aug. 25, 2018: RAs will assist with Move-in Day and First Night

Wed. Sept. 19, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm: Team Forum

Wed. Oct. 24, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm: Team Forum

Wed. Nov. 28, 2018  from 4:00-6:00pm: Team Forum

Fri. Dec. 21, 2018 at 4:00pm: RAs may depart for winter break 

Thurs. Jan 10, 2018 at 9am: Winter training begins and will end on January 11, 2019 in the evening.

Wed. Feb. 13, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm: Team Forum

Wed. Mar. 20, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm:  Team Forum

Wed. April. 17, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm: Team Forum
