Transfer Student Mentoring Program

The TEAM (Transfer Engagement and Acclimation Mentorship) program is a peer mentorship program that connects incoming transfer students with previously transferred students. The previously transferred student serves as a mentor to the incoming transfer student during the incoming student’s first semester at GW.

The program aims to help incoming transfer students find community and integrate into life at GW.  Each TEAM Mentor is assigned a number of incoming transfer students to mentor. As a mentor they:

  • Email their mentees to welcome them to GW

  • Meet at least once in person with their mentee to get to know each other and answer questions the mentee might have

  • Answer those “how does this work at GW” questions

  • Assist their mentees with how to get involved on campus

  • Provide tips and tricks on the best places to eat, shop, socialize, etc. in Washington D.C.

If you would like to be assigned a mentor, please fill out the following form: go.gwu.edu/gwteam
