Training for Student Organizations

Each year, the Center for Student Engagement provides training for student organization officers and members to promote success in student organizations. This training is designed to help student organizations understand policies and procedures, build relationships with their staff advisor, enhance their leadership skills, and deepen their understanding of how to manage an organization.

The requirements are twofold:

1) Required Organization-Advisor Meeting in September

All organizations are required to meet individually with their assigned staff advisor between the first day of classes in the fall semester and September 30th. During this meeting, the advisor will review essential policy information and help the organization plan for a successful year.

Contact your staff advisor to schedule a meeting. You can find your organization's staff advisor's name and contact information on your organization's OrgSync profile.

2) Excellence in Leadership Seminar Sessions

The Excellence in Leadership Seminar is a series of workshops to help students refine their leadership skills and manage their organizations. These sessions allow for student organization officers to customize their training to be relevant to their activities and needs. Plus, with sessions offered throughout the semester at varying times, training is easier than ever to fit into any schedule.

Failure to meet these requirements will result in loss of privileges, such as the organization's OrgSync portal, access to finances, scheduling privileges, and/or university recognition. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
