Student Organization Recognition & Grants

Chernak Opportunity Fund

Thanks to the generous donations from alumni, parents, and friends, the Dr. Robert A. Chernak Opportunity Fund for Student Engagement will support the diverse efforts and interests of student organizations to pursue and create opportunities that come their way, much as Dr. Chernak did over the course of his tenure at the university.  Chernak Opportunity Fund awards are available up to $300 per program or project, with each student organization eligible to receive one grant per calendar year.

Alumni Association Grant

Grants are available up to $2500 per fiscal year (July 1-June 30) to support programs that connect students and student organizations with GW alumni.  The GW Alumni Association has informally extended the fall #1 application deadline (which had been August 11) on a case-by-case basis to help support student organization events during Colonials Weekend.  See the additional details and application.
