Election for Student Association Postponed Until Fall 2017

APRIL 4: The election for the Student Association (SA) president has been postponed until fall 2017. All other student elections will be held as scheduled. The decision to postpone the SA presidential election was made as a result of consultation between the Division of Student Affairs and the student appointed Joint Elections Committee.

The university has been supporting and monitoring the process throughout this election cycle and came to this determination after careful deliberation and out of an overriding concern for the wellbeing of our students. We believe that this postponement will ensure a fair and civil election process.

There continue to be opportunities for our students to use their knowledge and passion to stay engaged on our campus. We encourage students to vote in the remaining student elections beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 5 through 9 p.m.on Thursday, April 6. To vote visit: go.gwu.edu/election.

Students who feel that they may benefit from counseling are encouraged to seek support through Mental Health Services in the Colonial Health Center. Support is available 24/7 by calling 202-994-5300 and following the prompts to speak with a counselor immediately or for walk-ins on the Foggy Bottom campus (Marvin Center, ground floor) Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Also, if you have concerns about a member of the GW community, please complete a CARE Network Report form so they can receive additional support and outreach.

More information about the fall election for the Student Association president will be announced at a later date.
